Has it really been seven weeks since we became a family of four? The time is flying by but at the same time it seems like Peyton has been part of our family forever. We have all adjusted very well and are loving the new guy. The first seven weeks of Peyton's life have been a blur considering we were out of town for 3 of the 7 weeks. Peyton has already visited 8 states (VA, MD, TN, GA, FL, KY, OH, IN) and gone on his first plane ride in his short life.
The highlight of Peyton's first seven weeks has been a very large amount of friends and family. He has been lucky enough to meet 3 out of 5 of his great-grandparents and many other members of our extended families. Peyton was blessed with meeting his Great-Grandpa Lee just days before he passed away unexpectedly. Grandpa was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed but we are so happy that Addy and Peyton got to spend a whole week with him while we were in Florida.
A few of the things we have been up to in the past couple of weeks are: a visit with Lindsay, Randy and kiddos, watching the space shuttle land at Dulles, a Red's baseball game for Jim & Addy, Addy's gymnastics performance, celebrating Addy's 4th birthday and lots of playing outside!
A large chunk of our 3 week trip was spent in Florida and boy did we have fun! Addy and Peyton were amazing on the LONG drive down and back. The majority of the time in FL was spent in the pool and ocean. Addy became quite the fish and has learned to swim without her puddle jumper. She can jump in, come up for a breath and continue swimming. It is AWESOME! Peyton enjoyed relaxing by the pool and being held and loved on by all kinds of family.
Like I said earlier, Jim's grandfather passed away suddenly shortly after our trip to FL. We were still in TN visiting my family so we quickly headed to IN to be with Jim's family. We celebrated the life of a very accomplished and loved man while in Indiana. While our trip to Indiana was unexpected, it did allow us to see some other friends and family that we wouldn't have seen for a long time and we are thankful for that opprotunity.
We will be spending the next couple of weeks closer to home getting into a routine with a quick trip to Pennsylvania thrown in. Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks! ENJOY!
