Hard to believe that the little man is 9 months old! The biggest news is that he is mobile. Peyton decided about five days before Christmas that he wasn't going to sit around and watch the world go by. I was really hoping that he would wait until all the Christmas craziness was over but oh well! Peyton is so much different than Addy was as a baby. He is in to EVERYTHING! We never had to move knick-knacks or plug the outlets for her and he has succeeded in finding all of them!
Peyton's nine month appointment went very well. He is growing and learning every day. He weighed in at just 20 lbs (75% percentile) and measured in at _____(85% percentile). Yes...Peyton is already a victim of second child syndrome...not as many pictures, baby book not as complete, and a forgetful mother. None the less, he is still very much loved!
Here are some other factoids about Peyton at nine months:
- loves his sister- lights up when she is around
-four teeth- two top and two bottom
- pulling up on furniture and trying to cruise
-has three words: da-da, ah-da (Addy), aaa du (all done)
-loves to eat "real" food
-is starting to have separation anxiety
-is sick- has been for over a month- wheezing/coughing is "normal" according to his doctors
- is a momma's boy
-continues to be a happy happy boy
It's still hard to believe that I will soon start planning his first birthday! I am excited to see him grow and learn about the world. Looking forward to the upcoming moths and watching him explore.
Time Flies
Jan 20, 2013
Oops...
Wow...January 20th. Time does fly! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and your 2013 is off to a great start. We had a very busy but wonderful holiday. Time was spent with lots of family and friends and that is what is most important. The kids were spoiled rotten, as usual. Christmas was very fun this morning with four little ones running around. Addy had a great time playing with Ethan and Henry and Peyton loved watching the big kids play. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

It's December?
You would never know based on the 70 degree days that we have had this week! We have been enjoying the nice weather by spending time outside at the park and playing with friends. There has also been a few Christmas activities thrown in but not a whole lot just yet. Addy and Peyton are both growing and learning new things every day. My favorites this week:
Addy- "Mom, today we learned that polar bears have blood, bones and bluffer to keep them warm." She was able to explain all about the bluffer and how it is oil and keeps the bears warm in the arctic. CUTE
Peyton- learning to pull himself up on things and trying really hard to crawl!
I am really excited about Christmas this year...should be lots of fun and maybe a little bit crazy!
Here is a photographic journey of the past couple of months!

6 Months...A Little Late
I think I start most posts out this way but it is hard to believe how fast time is going. Peyton is almost 7 months old! The little man is growing and changing so fast. It has definitely been a month of firsts for Peyton.
Here are this month's firsts:
-eating "food". he is eating oatmeal, veggies and fruits. He favors veggies and is not a big fan of fruits. His favorites are green beans and squash. He also likes to "snack" on Baby Mum Mums.
-using a sippy cup- he loves water and chewing on the spout.
-teeth- after a month of thinking that they were "right there", they finally showed up. Peyton's bottom two teeth popped through two days apart.
-rolling- he has been rolling from his stomach to back and the other way around but this month he really started to ROLL to get places. If he sees a toy that he wants but it is out of his reach, he will roll and roll until he can get it.
-scooting- he is also scooting backwards to get places. Just the other day he started getting up on his knees. Watch out World...he's comin' to get you!
-sitting up- he is not very stable but every once in a while he can sit up and play for a couple of minutes. He loves being upright and seeing what's around.
-sickness- the last 6-8 weeks have been rough for the whole family. Peyton woke up one morning and his breathing sounded a little "junky" so I took him to the doctor. Unknown to us, he had TWO ear infections and some wheezing. We never would have known that he had ear infections b/c he never was fussy or cranky! Needless to say, it's been over a month and after two more trips to the doctor and a trip to the ER in a hurricane, he is on another round of antibiotics and two different breathing treatments twice a day! Poor dude.
-giggles- he loves it when you talk to him in silly voices or when you tickle him. You can't help but giggle when he does!
See, I told you he has been a busy boy! He has also been growing. He weighed in at 19lbs (75th %) and 27 3/4 inches (95th%). He is still just as happy as can be and such a delight to be around. His smile lights up the room!

Happy Halloween
Halloween was a success in the Thomas house this year. Addy was really into it and excited about "Trick or Treat Night"! Her festivities started with a party and parade at her school. It was fun to go watch and see just how much energy 4 and 5 year olds have! We came home and transformed Addy into Cinderella...hair curled, a little make-up and she was ready to go! We went around our neighborhood with a couple of our neighbors. The kids were very well behaved and had a great time. Peyton stayed home with Daddy and snoozed during the festivities. I am a bad Mommy and didn't put him in a costume or anything! He won't remember! Enjoy some pictures.

Fall Preview
39 degrees this morning? Really? It's only October 9th! Then again, we had our biggest snow of last year on October 29, 2011. I guess we better start getting ready for winter. Since it isn't too cold just yet, we have been trying to do lots of fun things outside so we can enjoy what is left of summer/fall. Here are a few pictures of our recent shenanigans! Next time I will update on the kids in detail. They are of course, doing great and growing up too fast!

5 Months
Hard to believe that the Little Man is 5 months old today! Time sure does fly! Peyton had his four month check up at the end of August (just a little late). He had a great check up and met all of the milestones that they were looking for. He can hold his head up really well, he rolls over both ways, follows toys, and interacts with people. He is such a happy boy. Here are a couple of "stats":
- 17lbs (85th percentile) 26 1/4 inches tall (over 95th percentile)
- Peyton has been sleeping through the night (at least one 8 hour stretch a night) since about 5 weeks. However, he decided that since I was going back to work, that he should challenge me. For about two weeks he was getting up a couple of times a night and would sometimes stay up for an hour an a half! YUCK! Thankfully, he has been sleeping a little better the last couple of nights.
- Peyton is a DROOL machine. I mean the boy has to have a bib on him during all waking hours and the bibs usually last about 30 minutes before they are drenched and have to be changed. We thought he was teething but there are no toofers just yet! Addy got her first tooth the day she turned 5 months so I am thinking Peyton won't be too far behind.
- We have started giving Peyton some rice cereal and he LOVES it. He get so excited when you put him in his chair and he sees the bowl!
- Addy is by far Peyton's favorite person. He lights up when he sees her or she talks to him. I hope they continue to love each other and make each other happy.
- Peyton loves toys. Rattles, toys, his exersaucer, or his bouncer...loves them all.
- Sweaty feet...that's about all I can say about that...the boy has crazy sweaty feet.
- Peyton started daycare a couple of weeks ago and has adjusted so well. He goes to a wonderful home daycare that is just across the street from my school. Like so close that I ran there one day at lunch to give him tylenol and was back in less than 10 minutes! Laila (sitter) is a dream come true...she loves my boy like a grandmother and takes great care of him!
| I still love my playmat! |
